Software Engineer: Embedded Linux

Videogram is actively seeking a candidate for the role of Software Engineer- Embedded Linux. With at least 7 years of experience in Firmware/Software programming in embedded Linux target, the candidate shall have a very good understanding of ARM processor architecture and experience in product development with SOC. Development experience with video streaming and GStreamer /OpenMAX framework is a good fit. The candidate will be responsible for the development, deployment, and integration of streaming audio and video components.

Responsibilities:

Design, code and integrate software for an embedded Linux target (applications, drivers, TI framework)
Customization, deployment, and maintenance of Linux distribution on different hardware platforms
Interact with Linux kernel, TI framework, and new device drivers
Perform test unit verification and validation of the developed product
Document the project according to Videogram’s standard (protocols, architecture, technical specification)
Development, deployment, and integration of streaming of audio and video components

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or Computer Science
7 years of experience in embedded Linux programming
Expert on C++11 or later programming
Knowledge of audio and video coding standards
Knowledge of Unit testing especially with GTest
Knowledge of video/Image compression libraries, viz GStreamer
Hands-on managing continuous integration, viz Jenkins, Yocto
Experience with any of the following technologies:

Additional/ Desirable Interest:

Personal interest in Videography/Photography/ Audio Production is an add-on
Experience working programmatically with video/ images/ audio
Exposure to low-level details of any video/ image codecs
Exposure to movie container
Working knowledge of exFAT file system
Exposure to movie container file formats especially QuickTime/mp4
