Potlakaya or Snake Gourd Curry is a simple yet traditional dish made in many parts of south India. Snake gourd or Potlakaya or Podalangai is made with til or nuvvulu for a special occasion called atla taddi. Now lets see how to make Potlakaya Nuvvula Podi Kura by watching this video.
Ingredients:
Chopped Snake Gourd
Curry Leaves
Salt
Garlic Pods
Green Chilli
Red Chilli
Cumin Seeds
Turmeric Powder
Sesame Seeds
Tempering Seeds
Oil
Recipe in English:
Firstly fry sesame seeds in a pan along with dry red chilli and jeera. After they are roasted completely make a fine powder of the ingredients and the Sesame Powder are ready.
Later cut the snake gourd and partially boil them.
Heat pan and add oil in it. After the oil heats add the tempering seeds along with green chilli and garlic pods. Saute well till it turns aromatic.
Now to this add the partially boiled snake gourd, turmeric powder and salt and let it boil well.
Finally add the Sesame Powder and mix well.
Mouthwatering Potlakaya Nuvvula Kura is ready to be served on Atla Taddi.
